Greek pork souvlaki on the grill

Ingredients

for about 8 skewers

  • 500 g pork (neck or pork tenderloin), cut into 3 cm cubes
  • 1 bell pepper, cut into 3 cm pieces
  • 1 red onion, cut into thick slices of a similar size to the pepper pieces
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • salt and freshly ground pepper

Directions

  1. For the grilled pork souvlaki, combine the olive oil, mustard, lemon juice, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  2. Add the pork and mix well to coat it evenly in the marinade. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
  3. Soak the wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes.
  4. Remove the pork from the refrigerator and thread it onto the skewers, alternating with pieces of pepper and onion.
  5. Preheat the grill and cook the skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning frequently to ensure even cooking.
  6. Serve the souvlaki with pita bread, tzatziki, fries and salad.
