Slightly spicy and mouthwatering, this pepperoni pizza combines fluffy dough, rich tomato sauce, melted mozzarella and thin slices of pepperoni that impart intense flavor and aroma.

If you prefer a crispier base, bake the dough for 5 minutes first, then add the toppings and continue baking.

Ingredients 

  • 500 g pizza dough

  • 120–150 ml tomato pizza sauce
  • 200–250 g grated mozzarella
  • 20–30 slices of pepperoni
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • fresh basil or dried oregano
Method
  1. For the pepperoni pizza, preheat the oven to 250°C.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough onto a lightly oiled or floured baking tray.
  3. Spread the sauce evenly over the surface of the dough using circular motions.
  4. Place the pepperoni slices on top.
  5. Add the grated mozzarella, covering the entire surface of the pizza.
  6. Bake at 250°C for 7-10 minutes.
  7. Remove the pizza from the oven and, if you like, add a little dried oregano or fresh basil.
  8. Slice and serve hot.

A beautiful pairing is a red Montepulciano d'Abruzzo with intense aromas of black fruits, plum and cherry, notes of spices, medium body and soft tannins.
